Comfortec Heating & Air Conditioning Ltd. History
As Brad worked in the trade and watched other companies, he continually thought about how he would like to offer service and expertise if he owned his own company. That dream came true when he set up shop on their home property in Penhold and hired their first employee. He purchased a truck and proudly put the Comfortec logo on the side, heading out to install furnaces and air conditioners. Ads were taken out in the Olds and Red Deer phone books and soon there was more work than could be handled as a home-based company. The company was incorporated in 2001.
Comfortec’s first Red Deer shop was opened on 42nd Street in 2001, but it wasn’t long until that facility was outgrown as new employees and equipment were added. The addition of key staff members meant that more experienced installers and apprentices could be hired to meet the increased work load. The present location in the Edgar Industrial
Park was purchased in 2002 with great excitement. Offices were established at the front of the facility and a shop and storage area at the back. Now there was room to store parts for the service department which made it easier and more efficient to provide repairs and maintenance service.
However, with the growing industry demand and the increasing Red Deer market, more expansion was needed. Comfortec was now established as a major residential and commercial provider of heating and air conditioning solutions, so the shop expanded once again as the adjoining bay was purchased in late 2007.
